Because they provided the corrugated plastic bottom we were able to literally slide the unit off the palette and across the floor to its installation location. No 2 wheel carts were needed, this was all done manually because they took such care to design and provide an excellent shipping and delivery system. It fully resisted the ignorance and mishandling of the UPS driver.
Now we have the unit at its installation point; so what happened? We found this unit had been beautifully prepared and instructions were visible. Our installation took 5 minutes total.
Please note the "Friendly Reminder" label they provided in the 3 photos we are sharing which asks the user to let the unit sit for 24 hours before plugging it in. That is because they anticipated the mishandling by UPS; and by waiting 24 hours the coolant and compressor oil will settle back to its intended place. The front door is hinged to the right and they provided a box with an extra hinge in case you want to hinge it to the left. The door handle was tied to the top shelf inside the unit and it came in a plastic sleeve so there were no scratches on it.
The unit has 4 leveling legs and you can use them to both level the unit and to gain some vertical height in the case of a built-in application as ours is. We suggest that when you have a built-in application that anything that allows for increased ventilation in the cavity is a good thing and raising those leveling legs as we did should help promote internal ventilation where it counts. You really need to make sure that all 4 legs are firmly on the floor and that the empty unit does not wobble. If you ignore this step you will get vibration after you activate the unit and this is mentioned because we read some negative reviews for this unit before buying it and noticed complaints about vibration and noise.
So, we waited the 24 hours and then plugged it in. It started up quietly and reached the desired temperature in less than one hour. They asked in the "Friendly Reminder" to wait 24 hours after starting the unit before filling it. We did that too, and admittedly that was a long wait but we are now "In Service" as of 7/7/2019 and we are completely happy with this unit.
We were pleased to find that it has an internal LED light (blue in color) that you can switch on or off as you see fit. That switch is on the control panel along with the temperature controls.
An interesting side-note is that this unit fits perfectly into the opening where we had a Trash Compactor. It looks like the manufacturer designed this unit to fit in that exact application because the finished opening we had is 15" and this unit is 14.9" wide. That renders a perfect fit and an easy installation with no modifications. The last photo in our set shows our unit as installed and you can see how well it fits.
" addthis:description="We received this unit on 7/5/2019 via UPS delivery. The delivery driver carried it in upside down and then turned it sideways. This was in spite of the unit being properly labeled as a team lift and provided on a palette. You would think this review is going to be a complaint? Actually no.
We made him set it upright and then we proceeded to open the shipping container expecting the worst. We found that the manufacturer had provided an outer cardboard box and an inner box with 2" of polystyrene foam board to fully protect all sides. They also provided a corrugated plastic top and bottom in the shipping container and I'll get back to that in a minute. All of this was fastened to the palette with plastic bands which when cut enabled us to first lift the entire outer box vertically while the product and inner container remained anchored to the palette. We then cut the inner set of bands and lifted the inner container which contained the protective foam board and found the unit was covered in a plastic bag.
